Pandemic Fitness Tips #5

Living a healthy, fit life is about good habits that positively impact your body, your mind and your spirit. When a global pandemic hits and forces us out of our daily routines we have to make some changes and be even more deliberate about taking care of our fitness. I am going to start sharing some of my new fitness habits that are taking shape during this trying time. I hope that some of my new habits can help you keep your own fitness goals moving in the right direction.

Tip #5: drink heavily. Ok, not like THAT, though you may already be doing that. I mean drink plenty of water. Hydration is critical for your body, your health and your fitness. But you may be off your hydration game because your work and workout routines are disrupted. You may need to be a bit more deliberate about filling that water bottle and drinking up.

Pro tip #1: you are taking frequent breaks, right (see previous tip). Use each of these breaks as a time to refill your water bottle and make sure you are emptying it in between.

Pro tip #2: to help make your you are getting plenty of water treat it like your food (see previous tip) and track it. Use your food journal or an app to set your target and track your consumption to make sure you are getting there.

I know life is different right now and almost every one of us is struggling to find our new “normal.” With some good daily habits this new “normal” can still be a fit life. Good luck and get out there and live your best life. Let’s defeat this virus together!
